This 19th century hand-painted oval plaque was made in Hohenberg, Bavaria by porcelain manufactory C. M. Hutschenreuther. The plaque has a convex form and features a hand-painted image of Ruth the Gleaner after the original by French painter Charles Landelle (1821-1908). The piece is illegibly signed at the lower right and has been housed within an ornate carved and gilded Rococo style easel-backed frame with a foliate motif.
